Morpheus8 is a revolutionary skin rejuvenation treatment that utilizes advanced radio-frequency technology to stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of the skin. This treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that combines microneedling with radio-frequency energy to promote skin tightening, reduce wrinkles, and improve skin texture and tone.

Morpheus8 has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than any other microneedling device, going as deep as 4mm. Patient comfort is a major advantage of this device because of the sharper needles and tiny punctures it causes in the skin without tugging or pulling. M8 can be used for, but is not limited to treating wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks surgical scars and more.

Microneedling with RF waves work by gently puncturing the skin with small needles and applying RF waves to the skin. This prompts your body to naturally heal itself by creating more collagen and elastin. This results in smaller pores, healed sun damage, and fewer lines and wrinkles. It can also help with acne, poor elasticity, pigmentation, scarring, stretch marks, cellulite, and more.

The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.

This treatment is not recommended for anyone:

• Active herpes or other localized infection in the treatment area.

• Moderate-to-severe chronic skin diseases such as eczema or psoriasis.

• Patients with extreme keloidal tendencies.

• Immunosuppressed patients, including patients on chemotherapy.

• Wait two weeks after Botox injections in the area.

Our goal is to gentle coax the body to send collagen and elastin to the desired area. We do not believe that more pain equals better results, in fact, we believe the opposite is true. When the body is in a state of trauma (high pain) it doesn’t deliver the desired results. That is why we provide a topical numbing agent that is applied to the skin prior to treatment.

During the treatment we want to keep you as comfortable as possible and will adjust settings to keep you around a 3-5 on a pain scale of 10. Depending on you and your pain tolerance you may notice some or all of the following:

• warming/heat sensation

• electric “zing” - what we refer to as a spicy feeling

• pricking or scraping feeling

These feelings are generally minimal and not typically painful.

A full face and neck treatment takes about 60 minutes, but plan on being with us for an hour and a half to fill out paperwork and for aftercare instructions.

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

Microneedling is minimally invasive and safe for most skin types and individuals who are in good health. The procedure requires minimal downtime – most patients can return to a regular routine the following day.

Some side effects might include:

• Erythema (redness) generally subsiding after 2-3 hours

• Possible mild temporary swelling

• Possible light bruising

Side effects are short lived and generally mild making it one of our favorite treatments for most clients.

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment. You should see about 80% of results within 3 months.

During the first 90 days the body is creating and sending collagen and elastin to the treatment area. The next 90 days it is using the collagen and elastin to strengthen and firm skin.

A series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced a month apart is recommended to get to the desired results in the shortest amount of time. Since the skin continues to age, future touch-up treatments can help clients keep pace with the body's natural aging process.

Advanced aging/mature skin may need a touch up at the 1 year mark while others may need a touch up at the 2 year mark. Proper skincare and facials in addition to a healthy diet also play a role.

Morpheus8 is 4 to 5 times more effective than regular microneedling.

Traditional microneedling is a procedure that uses sterile, ultra-thin needles to strategically pierce the skin to create micro-wounds. When your skin naturally heals itself from these micro-wounds, it will produce elastin and collagen. These are the proteins in the skin that are responsible for skin texture and appearance.

• Accutane Use (Must be off medication for more than 6 months).

• Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 24 hours prior to treatment; sunburned skin will not be treated.

• Must not be spray tanned.

• Stop using all skin irritants (glycolic/salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol product such as Retin A, Triluma, Differin, and Vitamin C) on the area’s being treated 2-3 days prior.

• Do not have Botox 2 weeks prior to treatment.

• Advise staff of current and prior medical conditions and/or treatments.

• Advise staff if you are pregnant or nursing.

• Advise staff of current medications, including antibiotics (certain antibiotics can make your skin photosensitive).

• On the day of the treatment, please keep your face clean and do not apply makeup or jewelry.

• DO NOT PICK SKIN! This may cause hyperpigmentation or scarring.

• If the area is still irritated by end of the day, apply a cold compress for 10 minutes, then moisturize with LuxMD.

• For at least 3 days post treatment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.

• Post-treatment skin will be red, with mild swelling and/or bruising, and your skin might feel tight and sensitive to the touch for 2-3 days.

• Avoid vigorous exercise, hot tubs, pools, sauna or steam for 24-48 hours after treatment.

• Do not apply make-up, creams, lotions, oils or essential oils 24-48 hours to treated area.

• Avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours following treatment; SPF 30+ sunscreen must be applied 10 minutes prior to sun exposure and worn everyday, rain or shine.

• DO NOT USE retinol, any form of vitamin A, peeling products, or bleaching products until fully healed. Use mild products without alcohol only.

• Keep skin clean and protected to avoid infection.
